My Toy Dragon

When I saw this little guy in this post (down at the end of the post) I instantly fell in love. I wanted to make him so badly! But there were so many things on my plate already and what do I need a dragon for?

A couple of days later I was still thinking about him and went back to that blog post to see him again. It had to be.

I did a google search thinking I might find something somewhat similar but wasn't holding my breath that I would find the original. Low and behold...there it was! A free Michaelmas Dragon pattern.

Hubby and I don't celebrate Michaelmas, but that didn't stop me from making him.

I even did an intro with the kitties. He was on the little table here with Tigger for maybe half a second before she batted him off.

I tried to put him back on, but she was having none of it.

Once I forced him back on she took to biting his perfect little ears.

Finally she subsided and allowed him to sit on her perch with her.

Chappy was curious, but not offended by the newcomer.

At first I was just going to take pictures of him, but then I realized you should see him to scale. Now I'm glad I did pics with the kitties.

Too adorable for words!!!
Maybe you need to make another dragon for kitties and put some catnip in it?... Tigger would be smitten.

Beautiful Dragon! Did you modified the original pattern a little bit?

Katerina - the only modification I made was to trim the leg cuts on the yellow belly section. Otherwise if it looks different it's because of the sewing stitches I used in various places. But that should be easily visible =)

I thought about the head gusset also but you're absolutely right - the thing is in the stitches.

Thank you :)
