Tomorrow hubby and I are off to Oregon again. We'll be be flying to Portland then driving with friends out to the coast to see my parents.I'm so happy to see friends and family again. I just saw L and K in September, and now I get to see them again! Plus any time with my parents is always wonderful.
We have too early of a time to be at the airport.
Laundry isn't done.
We're not packed.
All I want to do is sit down with a chai tea and read through my library books.
But we're out of milk!
And it doesn't make sense to go buy more when we'll be gone for almost a week.
Lately I've been checking out a lot of books from the library. It seems it's becoming my Monday tradition. I roam the arts and crafts isles and pick out anything that seems interesting. A few non craft books tend to make it home too. Like the Alexandria Rediscovered. So amazing.
This was last Monday's haul. I even got a few more today that were waiting for me. I usually find at least one thing in each craft book that I'd like to
make. When a book really strikes me and has multiple things I'd like
to make I add it to my Amazon wish list. Then when I see it used for super cheap I pick it up.
In the mean time I've been trying to finish up more wine bags. This round had 44. Fourty-four! That's a lot for this person who struggles to make more than a few of anything.
I've taken the time to do them all in stages. But the pinking is taking much longer than expected. My lovely Ginger pinking shears are rather tight, and the slots aren't shaped well for something so difficult to use. I come away with really sore hands and now after cutting just a few I have to stop. Granted I'm cutting through multiple pieces of fabric at once. I have to admit I expected more from this brand. Adding some oil (the kind I use for my spinning wheel) has helped. Had I realized there was such a thing as a pinking blade for a rotary cutter before I bought these shears I would have just bought the blade. Oh well, another lesson learned! At least I got them for a good price.
Even Tigger was thinking I was spending too much time at the sewing machine. She ended up laying behind it and for a while even rested her chin on it. Such a desperate kitty for cuddles.
We'll be sure to leave lots of blankets around the house for them to cozy up on while we're gone.
